UWG's Black Student Alliance Celebrates 50-Year Legacy
In 1969, a year after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., African American students at universities across the country held protests asking for changes to the curriculum and the hiring of African American faculty. That same year, at UWG, a group of students joined together to found the Black Student Alliance, which celebrated its 50th anniversary with an event on campus Tuesday night.
