Media and Press
Media and press relations for UWG are handled by the University Communications and Marketing organization. If you need a subject matter expert to source, quote or interview for a media event or news story, UWG has hundreds of subject matter experts on everything from politics to climate change, history, archeology, anthropology, astronomy, and hundreds of other amazing disciplines. As a matter of UWG policy, all media interviews and contacts by the press should be made through UCM and not directly with faculty and staff members.
Research and Sponsored Programs
The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) provides support for faculty and staff who seek external funding to support scholarly, creative, and institutional initiatives. Recently awarded grants have funded initiatives ranging from K-12 teacher development workshops to small-scale ecological studies that examine the impact of forest management on federally listed species for the National Parks Service. If you have a project in mind and are in need of a collaborative research partner please browse through our database of people and their skills and research interests. Some of the resources are on a private list so if you don't find what you are looking for please contact ORSP directly.
Undergraduate Research
Faculty-directed undergraduate research complements classroom learning through learning by doing and reflection on doing, and as such provides an additional educational opportunity that transforms our students into scholars. Undergraduate research experience is invaluable and provides our scholars with a multitude of opportunities while they are enrolled at West Georgia and upon completion of their undergraduate degree. UWG's Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) helps facilitate this research and maintains a public and private list of faculty who have expressed interest in helping direct undergraduate research projects. Students and prospective students are welcome to search and browse these listings or contact OUR for more information.
