Biography

Peter Stoepker is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education at the University of West Georgia. Dr. Stoepker received his Doctoral degree from the University of Northern Colorado with an emphasis in Physical Education and Physical Activity Leadership. Additionally, Dr. Stoepker received his M.A. in Coaching Sport Performance from Western Michigan University and received his B.A. in secondary education from Hope College. Before joining the faculty and staff at UWG, his most recent position was a graduate research assistant and instructor at the University of Northern Colorado. During his tenure at the University of Northern Colorado, he was a research assistant with the UNC Active Schools Institute where he served in a variety of roles focusing on building healthier schools across that state of Colorado. Research interests include Comprehensive School Physical Activity, obesity prevention, and effective data use in physical education and physical activity programs. Peter was also a Head High School Baseball Coach and Assistant Baseball Coach at the NCAA Division III and NCAA Division II levels. Dr. Stoepker is married to Brooke Stoepker and has two children (Liam and Everett).
