Limited Term Instructor


Ayurdhi Dhar, Ph.D., is an instructor of psychology at the University of West Georgia. She has taught psychology in the United States and in India, where she also worked as a psychotherapist. Her research interests include the relation between schizophrenia and immigration, discursive practices sustaining the concept of mental illness, and critiques of a-contextual and a-historical forms of knowledge. She is the author of Madness and Subjectivity: A Cross-Cultural Examination of Psychosis in the West and India. She spends her time negotiating the guilt of being an ardent animal lover and meat eater.
