The first step in creating a CD is to open the program "Easy CD Creator" by Adaptec. This is done by clicking the "Start" button, click "Programs", click "Adaptec Easy CD Creator", and finally "Easy CD Creator".

Upon opening the program, the "Easy CD Creator Wizard" will open. The first step (1) is to choose what type of CD you would like to create. A DATA CD will hold information readable only by computer. An AUDIO CD will hold music. This is readable by a computer or a CD player. Click the circle next to the type of your choosing. Click "Next" to proceed.

Depending on your choice in the window above, you will get one of these two windows. The first is the DATA CD window. (3) is the space left on the CD. To add data to your CD you must locate the file(s) in the explorer window above. Once located, highlight the file and click (4)"Add Now". Continue this until you have added all the data to the CD. Click "Next" when finished.

The second window (above) will appear if you selected "AUDIO CD" at the previous window. (5) is the amount of time remaining on the CD for audio. To add music or sounds to your CD, locate it in the explorer window above, highlight the file, and click (4)"Add Now". Continue this until you have all the songs you want on your CD. Click "Next" when finished.

This window appears behind the windows above during the "Add files" session. (10) is the CD name that you are adding DATA or AUDIO to. (11) are the files selected to go on the CD. (12) is just a Windows Explorer window to easily locate files to be put on the CD.

Once you have completed placing files to be placed onto the CD, you will see this window. This computer has already been tested to see if it can correctly create a CD, so there is no need to run this test. Click in the circle next to (6)"Do Not Perform This Test". Click "Next" to continue.

Once you get to this screen, you can choose to create the CD now, or create the CD later. Select by clicking the circle next to the choices (7). Click (8)"Finish" to proceed to the next step.

The CD will now begin to write. During this time, you will see the two windows to the left. When the CD is finished writing all files and the Table of Contents (TOC) the (9)"OK" button will become highlighted. Click the (9)"OK" button to finish the process.
