Advising ensures that each student has an organized program to follow and graduates in a timely fashion.
New Admissions to the M.Ed. Program
- The Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Professional Studies admits students into the program based on admission criteria and promptly assigns an advisor from the department.
- The student schedules a meeting with the advisor as soon as possible and no later than the beginning of the student’s first semester to plan a program of study.
- The program sheet is signed by the student, advisor, and department chair.
- The signed program sheet is sent to the Graduate School and placed into the student’s permanent file.
New Admissions to the Ed.S. or Non-Degree Add-On Certificate Programs
Students in these programs are formally advised by the professor who teaches and supervises the three residency courses. Advising is ongoing through the efforts of the Beginning Leader Team (i.e., the professor, coach, school sponsor, and student).
