ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
The student must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
GPA
The student must have earned a minimum 2.7 undergraduate grade point average calculated on all work attempted in which letter grades were awarded
GRE scores
a combined score of 800 with at least 400 on the verbal and at least 400 on the analytical portion
Letters of recommendation
Three letters of recommendation using this form.
Assignment and meeting with advisor
Upon being accepted for admission, students receive a letter from the department. This letter informs the student of their advisor and contact information. It is advised that students will contact their appointed advisor as quickly as possible.
Transient
Any student who is enrolled currently in any accredited institution can apply for transient status and with department approval may register for classes.

You can register using Banweb (State University of Georgia's online registration software) from any computer with Netscape 3.0 or higher or in any computer lab on campus. Banweb is available each semester for registration and schedule adjustment.

In any graduate program a maximum of 6 semester hours of graduate credit may be transferred from another accredited institution subject to the following conditions:
- Work already applied toward another degree cannot be accepted;
- Work must have been completed within the seven-year period allowed for the completion of COE degree requirements;
- Work must have been applicable toward a graduate degree at the institution where the credit was earned;
- Work offered for transfer must have the approval of the Dean of the Graduate School and the chair of the department of the subjects major;
- Acceptance of the transfer credit does not reduce the residency requirement. Under no circumstances may credit earned through correspondence work be applied toward satisfaction of degree requirements.
