Education Annex
University of West Georgia

The UWG Pre-K is located in the Education Annex for the children of students, faculty, staff, and the community. The 4 year old program is funded through the state Lottery and is regulated under guidelines set by Bright From the Start Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. Children are admitted to this "no fee" program on a first come, first served basis.

The University of West Georgia has a unique opportunity to combine faculty, student and community life in the form of the Pre-K. The Pre-K of UWG is a pre kindergarten laboratory school for children who will be four on or before September 1. We are located in the Education Annex, and we serve our students free of charge in combination with the Georgia Department of Education, Bright from the Start. This high quality educational program provides a unique opportunity for aspiring teachers to observe and participate in practical experiences supervised by University faculty and staff in a stunning school facility without leaving the West Georgia campus. Families throughout the Carrollton and Douglasville areas vie for a space for their child, sometimes choosing to wait for hours for registration to open each spring. 20 spaces are reserved for University faculty and staff, and 40 spaces are available for the general public.
