The purpose of the PROMISE Teacher Scholarship Loan Program is to attract undergraduates into the teaching profession and provide them with financial assistance beginning their junior year and continuing through their senior year. The PROMISE Teacher Scholarship Loan Program is funded by the Georgia Lottery for Education and is administered by the Georgia Student Finance Commission. PROMISE provides service-cancelable loans up to $3,000 per academic year for direct and indirect educational related costs. In return, students agree to teach after graduation in a Georgia Public School System at the preschool, elementary, middle, or secondary level up to a maximum of four years. Students can be a HOPE Scholarship recipient and also be eligible for the PROMISE Teacher Scholarship Loan Program.
