Thomas Peterson

Educational Leadership and Professional Studies

Assistant Professor


Prior to his coming to the UWG in 1991, Dr. Peterson has served 8 years as principal at Tri-City Academy in North Carolina, and 12 years as a teacher at Rubidoux High School, California, J. N. Andrews School and Takoma Academy in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Teaching, he has found, is his best fit in this world. His vocation comes from listening to and accepting the rich stories of his life. He serves the College of Education programs in the filed of Educational Foundations.

Personal Interests

As one who grew up traveling, Dr. Peterson is a commercial pilot and flight instructor who likes to fly high and fast. He is an avid badminton player, enjoys a very active life. Other interests include: my three sons, tennis, skiing, playing the clarinet, and running.
