The
purpose of the College of Educations Unit Assessment System is to
collect and analyze data related to candidate and graduate performance,
program effectiveness, and unit operations. The Assessment Coordinator and
the Assessment Advisory Committee (AAC) are responsible for overseeing unit
assessment.
Cher Hendricks, Associate Professor of Educational Research, is Assessment
Coordinator for the College of Education. She is responsible for collecting
and analyzing data related to candidate performance and unit operations,
providing assessment training to faculty and staff, and serving as Chair
of the AAC.
The Assessment Advisory Committee is comprised of leaders from our P12
community as well as UWG faculty from the Colleges of Arts & Sciences,
Business, and Education. The AAC and the Assessment Coordinator engage
in a number of evaluation activities, including:
- Engaging in ongoing development of the Assessment System;
- Systematically reviewing candidate data, program data, and unit data;
- Providing to programs data summaries of candidate and graduate performance
- Reviewing data summaries, annual Program Improvement Plans, committee
recommendations, and data on unit operations to provide an overall
assessment of unit operations;

Providing evaluation and assessment training to UWG faculty and
staff; and

Ensuring fairness (including the avoidance of bias), consistency,
accuracy, and credibility of assessment instruments and the assessment
system as a whole.
